Ray Optics Lab

Move the mirror. See why the ray changes.

Place sources, mirrors, lenses, prisms, gratings, and detectors on a tactile optical bench. Run a deterministic geometric-ray experiment, solve a short mission, and understand the result on iPhone or iPad.

Offline learning lab

One small change. One clear reason.

Ray Optics Lab keeps the first experience visual and inspectable: drag an element, run the model, and read the explanation alongside the path.

Touch-first bench

Place and rotate point sources, beams, mirrors, arc mirrors, lenses, prisms, splitters, absorbers, detectors, rulers, and protractors.

Honest simulation

Reflection, refraction, total internal reflection, dispersion, absorption, detector hits, validation, and stop limits run deterministically on-device.

Keep the experiment

Import bounded scene data, preserve attribution, remix a verified community scene, reopen it offline, and export JSON, CSV, or a share card.

Honest scope

Built for intuition, not laboratory calibration.

Ray Optics Lab is an educational 2D geometric-ray model with abstract bench units. It is not professional optical-design software, safety advice, laser guidance, or a claim of laboratory accuracy. Community content is optional and the basic lab works offline.
