Ray Optics Lab is an offline-first optical learning app. This policy explains what the app accesses, stores, and does not collect.

On-device scenes and simulation

Scenes, imported files, simulation results, missions, and settings are stored locally on your device. The geometric-ray model and supported scene parser run on-device. Ray Optics Lab does not require an account and does not send project files to Cognerva.

Optional imports and sharing

You choose whether to open a local file, fetch a scene from an HTTPS URL, or share an exported scene, CSV, or image. A URL import sends the URL you enter to that destination; imported scene data is validated and then stored locally. Source URLs in scene provenance are metadata and are not fetched automatically.

No tracking or advertising

The app contains no advertising, analytics, profiling, or third-party tracking SDKs. It does not collect precise location, contacts, health data, microphone recordings, camera data, or photos.

Your control

Choose whether and where to import or share a file.
Delete saved scenes in the app or delete the app to remove its local data.
Revoke file access in iOS Settings or Files.
