Laser Material Passport
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
Laser Material Passport is a local-first iPhone app for recording material identity and historical shop observations. This policy explains what the app accesses and stores.
Camera and photos
The app uses the camera only when you choose to capture a supplier label, material photo, result photo, or QR code. You may choose images from the Photos picker instead. Images are stored in the app’s local library and are not uploaded to Cognerva.
Local records and attachments
Passport fields, historical observations, QR identifiers, and attachments remain in the app’s local storage unless you explicitly export or share an archive. Exported files are handled by the standard iOS Files and share features.
No account, ads, analytics, or tracking
The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, tracking systems, or third-party network services. The QR payload resolves only inside the local library.
Optional Pro purchase
The app offers an optional one-time Pro purchase through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the transaction and entitlement; Cognerva does not receive payment details or require an account. The purchase unlocks local app features and does not enable cloud sync or upload your records.
What the app does not claim
The app records user-entered material information and historical results. It does not certify material safety, infer chemical composition, or generate laser settings. Confirm material suitability with the supplier and follow your shop’s safety process.
Your control
- Revoke camera access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Delete individual passports, observations, and attachments from the app.
- Choose whether to export or share your local library.
- Delete the app to remove its local data.
