Oscilloscope Trace Digitizer
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
Oscilloscope Trace Digitizer is an iPhone app for converting an existing oscilloscope screenshot, a photograph of a display, or a printed trace into editable waveform samples. This policy explains what the app accesses, stores, and does not collect.
Images and camera access
You can select an image to digitize or choose to capture one with the iPhone camera. The app accesses only the image or camera session you choose for that purpose. Image analysis is performed on-device. Cognerva does not receive, upload, or otherwise process your source images on its servers.
Local waveform projects
When you save a project, the source image, calibration settings, manual corrections, recovered samples, metrics, and quality notes are stored in the app's local storage on your device. They are not synced to Cognerva or shared automatically.
Exports and sharing
If you export CSV, JSON, or an annotated image, the file is created on your device. It is shared only when you select an iOS share destination. The privacy practices of a destination you choose, such as a cloud drive or email provider, are governed by that destination's own policy.
No accounts, analytics, ads, or tracking
Oscilloscope Trace Digitizer does not require an account and is designed without advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking systems. Cognerva does not sell or use source images or waveform data for advertising.
Network use
The core digitization workflow does not require a Cognerva server connection. If you open a product, support, or App Store link, iOS or your browser handles that destination outside the app.
Optional Pro purchase
The optional lifetime Pro purchase is processed by Apple through StoreKit. The app stores the local entitlement needed to keep Pro features available offline; Cognerva does not receive payment details, source images, or waveform data.
Your control
- Delete saved projects from the project list at any time.
- Revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Choose whether to export or share any image, waveform, or project data.
- Deleting the app removes its local app data from the device, subject to any device backups you manage separately.
