Engine Lab is a touch-first virtual engine simulator. This policy explains what the app accesses, stores, and does not collect.

On-device simulation and microphone comparison

Engine Lab calculates the engine state and generates procedural sound on your device. If you choose Microphone comparison, the app requests microphone access and analyzes the bounded capture in memory on the device. Raw microphone audio is not uploaded or retained as a saved recording.

No account, analytics, ads, or tracking

Engine Lab requires no account and includes no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs. Cognerva does not collect personal data through the app.

Local app data

Engine setups, tuning, imported engine scripts, and saved experiments are stored on your device. Cognerva does not receive your simulation settings or engine state. If you choose to export or share a build or audio file, the destination you choose receives that file.

Game Center leaderboards

Challenges can use Apple Game Center to sign you in, submit eligible scores, and retrieve leaderboard standings. Apple handles the Game Center account and service. Your Game Center player name, rank, and score may be shown on a leaderboard. The core engine simulation does not require a Cognerva account. Challenges are not offered on the China mainland storefront.

Your control

Revoke any permission in iOS Settings.
Delete Engine Lab to remove its local app data from the device.
