Privacy Policy

Analog Gauge Reader is an iPhone app for calibrating an analog dial, estimating a needle value from an image or video frame, retaining a manual correction, and exporting a local log. This policy explains what the app accesses, stores, and does not collect.

Camera, photos, and video

You can import a photo or video frame, or capture a still image with the iPhone camera. The app accesses only the media you select or capture for that action. Image decoding, perspective suggestions, calibration, and needle analysis run on-device. Cognerva does not receive or upload source media.

Local profiles and logs

Gauge profiles, calibration anchors, source images, annotated images, reading results, confidence diagnostics, timestamps, correction notes, and correction history are stored in the app's local Application Support storage. They are not synced to Cognerva or shared automatically.

Exports and sharing

JSON, CSV, and annotated-image exports are created locally. They leave the app only when you select an iOS share destination. The privacy practices of that destination, such as a mail or cloud provider, apply after you share.

Optional Pro purchase

The app may offer an optional one-time Pro purchase through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment and purchase history. The app stores only the local entitlement state needed to unlock Pro features; Cognerva does not receive payment details or gauge media.

No accounts, analytics, ads, or tracking

Analog Gauge Reader does not require an account and is designed without advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking systems. We do not sell or use gauge images or log data for advertising.

Network use

The reading workflow does not require a Cognerva server connection. If you open a support, privacy, or App Store link, your browser or iOS handles that destination outside the core workflow.

Your control

Delete profiles and readings from within the app; deleting a profile also removes its local readings.
Revoke camera or photo permissions in iOS Settings.
Choose whether to export or share any source image, annotation, or log.
Deleting the app removes local app data, subject to device backups you manage separately.
