MotorQue
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
MotorQue is an iPhone app for reading live vehicle data, diagnostic trouble codes, and trip history from an OBD-II adapter. This policy explains what the app accesses, what it stores, and what it does not collect. The short version: MotorQue works entirely on your device and does not send your vehicle data to Cognerva or any third party.
Bluetooth access
MotorQue uses Bluetooth Low Energy to communicate with a compatible ELM327 OBD-II adapter plugged into your vehicle. No data from this connection is uploaded or shared. You can revoke Bluetooth permission at any time in iOS Settings, which will prevent the app from connecting to adapters.
Local network access
If you use a WiFi-based OBD-II adapter, MotorQue connects to it over your local network via a direct TCP socket. No data from this connection leaves your device or local network. MotorQue does not connect to Cognerva servers.
Vehicle and diagnostic data
Live sensor readings, trouble codes, freeze frame data, and readiness monitor status are read from your vehicle and displayed on-device. This data is not uploaded to Cognerva or any third party.
Trip logs
If you record a trip, MotorQue stores the route samples, duration, and summary statistics locally on your device using on-device storage. Trip data stays on your device unless you explicitly export it using the iOS share sheet.
Vehicle profiles
Vehicle names, notes, and associated diagnostic history you add inside the app are stored locally on your device. This information is not synced to any external service.
No accounts, no analytics, no ads
MotorQue does not require sign-in and does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking systems. No identifiers are collected.
Network use
MotorQue does not contact Cognerva or any cloud service during normal use. If you tap links to the product website, support email, or App Store pages, those destinations are handled by iOS or your browser.
Your control
- You can delete vehicle profiles, trip logs, and diagnostic history from inside the app.
- You can revoke Bluetooth access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Trip and diagnostic data is only shared when you explicitly use the iOS share or export controls.
