Machine Vibration Analyst is designed for repeatable, local checks. Start with the built-in Demo signal to understand the report before recording a machine.

For a repeatable recording

Keep the phone orientation, mounting point, and operating condition consistent.
Use a long enough, steady window; avoid touching or moving the phone during capture.
Compare sessions from the same machine and compatible input units.
Review quality flags before interpreting a peak or change.

When a result is withheld

Short duration, clipping, timestamp gaps, low signal-to-noise ratio, resampling, or a changing operating condition can limit the analysis. The app reports those limits rather than turning weak evidence into a fault claim.

What the app does not do

Measurements are not a safety clearance, bearing diagnosis, remaining-life estimate, or repair prescription. Consult a qualified technician for equipment decisions.
