For a useful measurement, generate a pattern in the app, keep the target and recording geometry fixed, and capture at least three repetitions. Review confidence and uncertainty before comparing runs.

Common causes of a noisy result

• Room echoes or background sounds can create extra acoustic peaks.
• Rolling shutter and display exposure make a camera-observed result different from encoded PTS timing.
• Bluetooth and AirPlay routes can add route-specific delay; they are not universal corrections.
• Use a longer pattern when events are dropped or duplicated.
